Part 1: My experiences of the Law of Attraction
I’ve been studying the Law of Attraction for over 20 years, firstly through cosmic ordering then reading Abraham Hicks’ books. But unfortunately, and you may be surprised to hear, that there is not one book that teaches you exactly how to do it.
Why? Because everyone is unique. And what may work for one person may not work for someone else. It’s worth thinking about exploring lots of different techniques to find one which works for you.
I used to use vision boards a lot (which was actually a complete wall - I’ve never done things by half!). A vision board is effective for those who connect well with images - it works by creating emotional excitement by seeing things that we want or desire. And this is the exact feeling we want to create when manifesting!
Another technique that I’ve used in the past too is writing out my intentions or desires repeatedly on a piece of paper so they’re embedded into my subconscious.
My first experience of the Law of Attraction was many years ago when I was a single mum to 3 young children. I had a job which didn’t enable me to have a decent quality of life and I was really unhappy with it. I decided to do something about it and I came across cosmic ordering through a couple of books I bought.
Reading these books gave me the practical tools I was looking for and so I wrote down everything that I wanted for a new job. They were:
Really close to home so that I could drop my daughter off to school every morning with time to be at work early
A specific salary that I desired
A specific job title that appealed to me
And because I wanted to test the theory out, I put in a final request: That I would be promoted within 1 week of starting my new job.
Within just a couple of days of writing out my list, guess what? Up popped a job! I looked into it in more detail, applied and got an interview. When I researched where it was I soon found out that it was in the estate just down the road from where I lived - somewhere I’d never been or taken much notice of before, and so close to home that I could walk there!
In the interview for the job I was asked to do some testing, much of which was Maths orientated (which is totally not my strong point). After I did the test I knew that I’d totally failed it and I was surprised that I’d even gone into the interview afterwards. It was so bad. But low and behold I had the interview and the interviewers advised me that although I got a big fat zero on the test, they had a really good feeling about me after talking with me and so I got the job!
I started on the Monday and guess what?! On the Friday I got promoted!
This was my first experience with Manifesting.
After that first experience I realised that I could Manifest ANYTHING that I wanted in my life.
I then Manifested my next job, with a list of wants including a London salary, a Costa coffee on site, a 20 minute drive from home and to have every Friday off.
That evening I opened the laptop to apply for some jobs, and the first job that popped up had exactly these features! I couldn’t believe it.
And when I started the job I soon realised that the job didn’t actually require that much from me and so I could focus on building my business - something that I’d been thinking about for a while and soon became a beautiful reality for me.
