"This time next year, we will be millionaires, Rodney".
Is there a touch of the Del Boy in your way of thinking? Piles of positivity but getting nowhere fast ?
Let's examine where this philosophy goes wrong.
I would say that I am the eternal optimist, always looking at the bright side. But from my experience, it takes something else to start building your dreams into a reality.
There is a big difference between fantasy and creative imagination. Most people are like an artist building castles in the sand, and never think to actually begin building them in reality themselves, but wait for their dreams to magically manifest of their own accord as a gift from the universe.
A common mistake is believing that because we have suffered (as we all do) , and we now really really want something, that we are in some way entitled to it without showing 100% commitment.
The universe, in it's infinite compassion, loves us dearly, but like any employer or tough-love parent expects hard work and demonstration in action to show that this is a true desire.
It takes drive and passion and a relentless energy to create your dreams. As I have said to many people, affirming your desire is not enough. A good friend once told me a story. He described how his guru took him out to a beach and they waded into the water. When they were deep enough, he pushed his head under the water. As my friend fought for his breath and finally came up for that gasp of air, he was told : "You have to want that desire as much as you wanted to breathe just now". This is the energy that creates dreams. To want nothing else and a desire to commit to that dream, no matter what!
To achieve one's desire one must align to a pure vibration not cluttered "I can't" inner thinking. Only positive emotions followed through with solid practical steps will be useful in achieving one's dreams.
There are many things that can block the attainment of one's desire, including comparing how easily others have achieved what we desire, and harbouring negativity and jealousy towards those people, Our aims are our own, and each set of circumstances is different. The universe can deal an uneven set of cards for a reason, but the person riding the crest of a wave today may well be dealt a different hand tomorrow if their energy is misaligned.
Our own personal blocks and how we handle them also has a dramatic affect on the success of achieving one's aims. It is only through honest and sincere self-examination that we can remove the obstacles that we ourselves place in our own way, and the self-perpetuated blocks that we have inherited either from family or from our friends and social / cultural group. We can often accept the limitations that we were taught as children, or when growing up amongst friends with a vested interest in us staying the same.Sometimes, it can be others not wishing us to succeed, whether they are consciously aware of it or not, and it requires strength and perseverance to push through these barriers and assert a new and positive side of ourselves.
In the end, it is by shedding ourselves of everything which is NOT our desire, and being completely focused on achieving it by raising our vibration and aligning with the energy that is needed to have the role we wish, that will produce the success we crave. And that requires work both in our inner and outer lives.Always think about what you are sending out to the Universe. If you show commitment, then the Universe might take you seriously. If you are expecting everything to change, because you wish it to be, but are not prepared to take risks and put your life in the hands of a greater power, then don't be surprised when the same lack of commitment comes back at you.
As Paul McCartney famously once sang : "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make"
